OUR
CORONA VIRUS (COVID-19) PREVENTION MEASURES

Our Covid-19 Measures logo

At Barefoot Dive Center, we are aware of the impact of COVID-19 on our daily lives. For this reason, with the start of the 2021 season, we have applied safety measures in our operation. We all must adapt to continue enjoying diving safely.

These are the measures set by the Barefoot team to avoid COVID-19 spread:

MEASUREMENTS IN THE DIVING CENTER:

  • Any person with symptoms that could be related to COVID-19 should NOT enter the dive center.

  • Hand sanitizer will be available at the entrance of the diving center and on boats.

  • All spaces: the dive shop, classroom, boats, and transportation, will be disinfected and sanitized daily and before any activity.

  • Face masks are required while inside the shop and while taking theory classes in our classroom.

  • Allow a reduced amount of people in the Dive Shop at the same time to guarantee safe distance.

THE DIVING EQUIPMENT:

Hygiene and safety measures for the use of dive shop equipment are:

  • Barefoot will provide disinfected mouthpieces with our equipment to each diver at the beginning of the activity. Our divers will be able to get a new, closed one for a cost of 5 USD.

  • Regulators come with a number. We disinfect them before and after each use with specific solutions for this purpose; the diver will be responsible for not exchanging the regulator with another person.

  • Barefoot gives disinfected masks before each use; the diver will be responsible for not exchanging them with another person. We will also have professional diving and apnea masks (Cressi) for sale at low cost.

  • Wetsuits will be cleaned individually with specific virucidal products before each use.

  • To avoid mixing the diving equipment, Barefoot will give the diver a "scuba taco" with all the equipment at the beginning of each experience.

  • At the end of each experience, the material will be sanitized only by Barefoot staff members following these rules:

    • Use of gloves, mask, and eye protection.

    • Disinfect each piece of diving equipment with suitable virucidal solutions.

    • Sanitized and disinfected equipment is in a separate area.

STANDARDS ON BOATS:

  • Divers will respect the appropriate safety distance.

  • People who are not diving or snorkeling will not be allowed to board.

  • Hand sanitizer gel will be available on the boat to disinfect your hands.

  • Barefoot will work at a reduced capacity on the boat to allow more space between divers.

If you have any questions, please contact us.
